Rice straw fibre insulation panels are made almost entirely from natural rice straw fibres, sourced directly from crop waste. These fibres are mixed with a small percentage of thermofusible polyester fibres (approximately 8%), which, thanks to heat, melt and bond the straw, forming a compact and resistant panel without the need for chemical glues or synthetic additives.
The result is a semi-rigid or rigid panel, depending on the version, capable of maintaining an excellent balance between lightness and mechanical stability.
Another significant advantage comes from the natural presence of silica in rice straw: this element gives the material an intrinsic resistance to mould, insects and biological degradation, reducing the need for chemical treatments. In addition, the fibrous structure of the panel makes it breathable and hygroscopic, helping to regulate the internal humidity of rooms and improve living comfort.
These panels are used for the insulation of walls, roofs and external cladding, and also offer good sound insulation properties.
