Copper-aluminium alloys, such as CuAl5Zn5, are materials specially developed for architectural applications, particularly for façade cladding. Thanks to their uniform structure, these alloys are characterised by excellent mechanical properties, which guarantee strength and stability over time.
The copper, zinc and aluminium composition gives the material high resistance to mechanical wear and significant protection against corrosion, even in harsh environments such as marine, industrial or terrestrial environments. In addition, this alloy is easily cold workable and compatible with both tin and inert gas welding processes.
A further advantage is the colour evolution of the material: exposure to atmospheric agents gradually transforms the initial golden-yellow finish into a warmer, more opaque golden-brown shade, without the development of the typical green patina seen on other copper-based metals.
Thanks to these characteristics, the material ensures long-lasting performance, aesthetic stability and structural reliability for high-end building applications.
