Cork fabric is an environmentally friendly product, vegan and sustainable.
Cork has the same qualities as natural leather and is harvested from the Cork Oak tree, which is endemic to southwest Europe and northwest Africa. Once the trees are about 25 years old the cork is traditionally stripped from the trunks every nine years by hand. The trees live for about 300 years.
Due to its elasticity and fire retardant properties, it is used in a variety of products in fashion and interiors. It is also used in science and industry such as the nose of the NASA space shuttles.
Fashionable and ecological, cork textile joins the unique characteristics of the cork material with a very rigorous manufacturing process that allows achieving great levels of mechanical, sensorial and microbiological properties. To protect its natural structure and ensure the technical performance, the latest technology is used in the sterilization, cleaning and refinement of this product. A natural product obtained from a renewable source, with the capacity of recycling for other usages.
Our great fascination and respect for artisanal processes made us explore what can be done with cork as sustainable material. Industrially handmade in our ateliers in Italy, cork’s innovative production process involves embossing, heat bonding, laser cutting, laser engraving and printing.
