Iragna is a grey gneiss, moderately schistose with a medium-fine grain and fine distribution of mica minerals.
It is extracted from quarries near the municipality of Iragna, in the canton of Ticino (Switzerland).
Its composition is as follows: 60% white feldspar (albite), it also contains quartz and biotite (dark mica) and sometimes muscovite (light mica) and epidote.
It is a rock that is highly resistant to frost, acids and alkalis.
