Lime wood is soft and flexible, known for being one of the favourite materials of woodcarvers due to its workability and fine grain.
It has a light appearance, is light in weight, soft to the touch and easy to shape.
Its characteristics make it ideal for more precise carving work. Precisely because of its ductility, it is widely used in model making, toy production and crafts. In addition, lime wood is considered a highly valuable resonance wood in the construction of guitars and other musical instruments.
